This is a puzzle which is fun to do because it is not too easy. It is interesting because some of the pieces seem to fit into more than one place and the child really has to think about the shape AND the picture. It's just what I was looking for. A perfect 48 piece puzzle.

My 3 year old loves this puzzle, but it's extremely hard since a lot of the planets are on separate pieces. It's quite a challenge and lots of fun. And I love the thick wooden pieces that he can't tear apart.

Grandson loves these Puzzles as they are made of wood and hold up better than other childrens puzzles. He has several of these and really likes them.

I bought this puzzle and the Melissa & Doug Rainforest Jigsaw 48 pcs Puzzle for my son's 5th birthday. He loved it the first time he put it together.
Unfortunately, it didn't last longer than that. The back piece was warped, and the frame separated from the backboard within hours of opening the shrink wrap. I sent it back for a replacement, and the replacement did the same thing. I'll be sending it back for a different design.
The rain forest puzzle is still a hit and we didn't have the warping problems with it. The sturdy wooden pieces are great, if a little tough to break apart and snap together. These puzzles are perfect for the pre-K and K set - not easy peasy, but not too difficult to get together before getting frustrated or bored.
In summary, it is a fantastic puzzle. Just skip the the space themed one until the wood issue is resolved.
